The St Gabriel’s Halls complex offers several spaces at once: from chamber rooms to a spacious hall for a hundred guests. Here you can hold a conference, a concert, a family banquet or a workshop. This article provides a detailed overview of each hall, its characteristics and rental conditions.
History and architecture
Founded in 1874, St Gabriel’s Halls settled around the parish school laid out at the initiative of Bishop Charles Dudley. The first Neo – Gothic building was erected in red brick with carved window frames and lancet arches. Inside, the original cornices and heavy oak doors remain. In 1902 a metal vault with decorations in the form of celestial stars was installed over the main nave.

The complex was expanded several times. In 1920 a refectory was added to the western facade, and in 1955 the side wings were reconstructed for a Sunday school. The last major restoration with strengthening of the foundation and renewal of stained glass windows took place in 2018 – 2020.
Halls and event hire
St Gabriel’s Halls offers a variety of spaces for events of all sizes. All halls are equipped with state – of – the – art technology and are flexible to adapt to the format of your event. There are a total of three main spaces at your disposal:
Main Hall
This spacious 150 m² hall is suitable for large events: concerts, seminars and conferences. It can accommodate up to 120 people in theater seating or 80 at tables. High windows and parquet flooring create an atmosphere of classic elegance.
Upper Hall
This 100 m² room can accommodate up to 70 guests in a lesson or presentation format and up to 50 in banquet seating. It can be used for creative workshops and family celebrations: the room is equipped with soft lighting and a mobile stage.
Lower Hall
A cozy room of 60 m² can accommodate up to 40 people for trainings and meetings. A special feature of the hall is the direct access to the garden, which allows combining indoor and outdoor activities.

Social projects and activities
St Gabriel’s Halls is not limited to liturgical activities. The focus here is on social support and strengthening ties within the neighborhood. To this end, parishioners and
volunteers regularly develop and implement charitable initiatives that affect a wide range of people, from the homeless to families with children and elderly residents.
To date, the main areas of this work include:
- “Kindness Kitchen”, where hot lunches are distributed every Sunday to the homeless and low – income population;
- “Senior Citizens Club”, which gathers on Wednesdays for handicrafts and health lectures;
- Youth Center, which supervises sports sections, creative workshops and career guidance courses;
- A municipal vegetable garden on the temple’s territory, where volunteers grow vegetables and fruits for charity fairs;
- Free English language courses for migrants and refugees, available twice a week.
Each of these projects is funded by voluntary donations from parishioners and grants from municipal funds. Detailed expense reports are published on the official website of the temple, which ensures transparency and trust among the residents of the neighborhood.
