University of the Third Age in London (U3A)
Open to all retired and semi-retired people, i.e. no entry qualifications are required and there is no lower age limit for membership.
The U3A provides a framework for a community of people engaged in learning - and learning from each other. Many of its tutors are highly qualified - other very popular tutors have no qualifications at all. A very wide range of subjects are covered. There is a Summer Programme during the summer break including a number of outdoor activities, visits and walks.
Weekly talks are held on Mondays at Peter Samuel Hall, Royal Free Hospital, Rowland Hill Street, London, NW3 2PF.
There are no exams and no diplomas or degrees are issued. The motto is "learning for pleasure".
Annual fee applies.
