The UK Council for International Student Affairs (UKCISA)

Campaigns on behalf of international students. Offers general advice to UK students wishing to study abroad and to international students wishing to study in the UK. Produces a number of very useful booklets on practical issues relating to international study.

Runs a telephone helpline.

Runs training courses for staff of educational institutions and for others who deal with students from abroad studying in the UK. Also publishes guidance and materials for advisers working with international students.

Aims to promote and protect the interests of international students in the UK by monitoring government legislation that could affect international students. Also by maintaining a dialogue with the Home Office and UK Border Agency about immigration and employment legislation and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and the devolved administrations over fees and student support regulations.

Holds an annual conference.
