The Thorney Island Society and Friends of St James's Park and Green Park

The society is a conservation and amenity group founded in 1985. Its aims and objectives are to look after the interests of both residents and businesses within the area and acts as a ‘watchdog’ on local planning and development issues. The Society is also concerned about the extension of conservation boundaries and the scale and aesthetics of building programmes within its remit.

The society's area of interest is bounded by Regency Street, Horseferry Road, Trafalgar Square, the River Thames, Tate Gallery Millbank, and St James's Park and Green Park.

The society maintains an archive collection housed in Old Pye Street; research by appointment, visitors welcome.

There are regular dinners with guest speakers and private visits to places of local interest, landmarks and venues within the area covered by the Society - some of which are not readily accessible to the public.

Membership is open. Membership fees apply.
