Housing for Women

Housing For Women's core work is supporting women by providing secure, affordable housing and related services. It provides targeted services for women who have suffered domestic abuse, been trafficked or have been released from prison.

To be considered for housing you have to demonstrate that you are in real housing need and be referred by your local council or one of HFW's approved referral agencies.

You cannot self refer. Most of HFW's tenants are received through choice based lettings. To be able to bid for properties through the CBL scheme you need to have been accepted into it through application to your local authority.

Single men will not be able to apply directly to HFW for housing.

HFW runs a resettlement and outreach support service providing free, confidential, one to one support and advice for women and children living in violent situations. This includes both refuges and also help where women may not want to leave their family home.
