Commission for Local Administration in England (Local Government Ombudsman)

The Local Government Ombudsman looks at complaints about councils and some other authorities and organisations, including education admissions appeal panels and adult social care providers (such as care homes and home care providers). It is a free service.

The LGO will only consider cases where you have complained to your Council already in an attempt to resolve the issue.

The Ombudsman will consider complaints with regard to the following council services: Housing (some aspects), Planning, Education, Social care, Housing benefit, Council tax, Transport and highways, Environment and waste, Neighbour nuisance and antisocial behaviour.
