Al Manaar, the Muslim Cultural Heritage Centre
The Al Manaar is a place of worship and a community centre offering activities for young people, women and older people. The centre is open to people of all faiths and none.
The Saturday School offers help to young people with the study of core subjects; maths, english and science.
The Sunday School offers Arabic language and Islamic culture study to children aged 4 - 15 years.
There regular elderly well-being sessions:
- Monday and Wednesdays - 10:30 to 12:00, gym session at Westway Sports Centre followed by a sauna at Portobello Green Fitness Club from 12:30.
- Tuesdays - 10:30 to 12:00, Yoga.
- Thursdays - 10:30 to 11:00, Zumba. 11:00 - 12:00, Chair based exercise.
Also offers Housing and Legal Advice and regular talks.
The Centre has opportunities for volunteers.
Fully wheelchair accessible with adapted toilets, level entrance, with lift to all floors.
